The consulting and web development agency Mediakod is migrating all its customers’ domain names to Infomaniak in order to optimise its costs and simplify its portfolio management.
Objective: to centralise the management of hundreds of domains
Since its creation in 2012, Mediakod has worked with large organisations as well as with the public administration of Wallonia in Belgium and elsewhere. The agency has experimented with several service providers for the management of a large number of domain names.
- An initial collaboration with OVH proved unsuitable. The quality of service and the administrative burden became incompatible with the growth of the agency.
- The company then switched to Gandi, via their reseller programme, but a significant price increase without the provision of any additional services prompted Mediakod to look for a more reliable alternative.
- At the same time, the agency received good feedback concerning collaboration with Infomaniak, both in terms of management of .BE domains and the quality of its Mail Service, as well as for its more attractive prices.
- Keen to support more sustainable digital technology and faced with growing demand for sovereign messaging services, Mediakod finally decided to migrate all its managed domains to Infomaniak.

Implementation of migration
Seamless and secure batch transfer

To migrate the domains, Mediakod used Infomaniak’s transfer wizard. After retrieving the transfer codes from Gandi, it was simply a question of importing a CSV file containing the domain names and their codes into the tool. The wizard then automated the transfer steps while providing real-time monitoring of the status of each domain. Infomaniak also provides practical guides to make it easier to obtain authorisation codes from the main registries.
A management console designed for agencies
The team quickly familiarised itself with the Infomaniak admin console, which centralises all services linked to customer domains in a secure space. Thanks to a clear and standardised onboarding process, the teams become more efficient while ensuring transparency and autonomy for customers.
The Infomaniak console also provides practical monitoring and maintenance tools. For example, the Mediakod team can easily check and update the contact information linked to the domains – a key step during transfers, especially to ensure that the WHOIS is updated.
