What exactly is B Corp?

B Corp is an international label awarded to companies that meet high standards in terms of social, environmental, governance and transparency. This means rethinking the way we work to take account of the interests of all stakeholders: employees, customers, partners, society and the planet.
It is a rigorous process that involves meeting high standards in six main areas: governance, employees, the community, the environment, customers and transparent practices. The company must present proof of its actions, document its practices, share certain data and make a formal commitment to continue to progress through a reassessment every 3 years.

Obtaining B Corp certification is the result of cross-cutting work carried out with great determination by our Compliance team, who have steered the entire process of structuring, gathering evidence, ensuring compliance and optimising internal practices.

The B Corp label is not obtained through intentions, but through actions. Here are some tangible examples of the practices we implement on a day-to-day basis that have contributed to our certification:

1. Governance

We integrate the principles of social responsibility into our governance: participatory corporate strategy, financial independence: Infomaniak belongs to its employees, a policy of internal transparency and a formal commitment to prioritising the collective interest in our strategic decisions.

2. Employees

We have a transparent equal-remuneration policy and voluntarily limit wage differentials. Each employee benefits from the opportunity to take part in training courses financed by Infomaniak, 100% paid sick leave and a working environment that promotes a work-life balance, in particular through the introduction of teleworking. Regular internal satisfaction surveys allow us to adapt working conditions to specific feedback from our staff.

3. Environment

Our data centers are cooled without air conditioning and are known for their energy efficiency. They are powered by 100% certified renewable energy. In addition, we doubly offset all our CO2 emissions and promote soft mobility with an annual bonus of up to CHF 1,500 for employees who prefer environmentally-friendly means of transport such as bicycles.

4. Community

We support local associations and citizen projects designed to improve the climate, and part of our revenue is redistributed each year to causes that we choose as a team, such as the Champions of the Earth environmental programme. Whether it’s infrastructure, technologies or the source code of certain applications, we make our solutions available in open source format wherever possible so that they can be freely reused and benefit the community.

5. Customers

We develop sovereign and privacy-friendly digital services, without advertising or data resale. We host the data exclusively in Switzerland, in strict compliance with the FADP, the GDPR, the European Code of Conduct and the European Taxonomy. We offer tangible solutions to replace a growing proportion of the services provided by the US web giants, and our tools are designed to empower users. We also benefit from support that is publicly recognised for its efficiency and quality in supporting our clients.

6. Transparency

Throughout the certification process, we documented our actions, provided tangible evidence and completed a detailed assessment form (B Impact Assessment™), validated by independent analysts. Our score and commitments are made public to allow a clear comparison with other companies that have received the label.

It is this coherence between our business model, our values and our practices that the B Corp label validates.

What this means for you

As a customer, partner or employee, you are part of this process. B Corp pushes us to do better in all domains: how we handle job applications, subcontracting, parental leave, responsible purchasing, waste, pay equity and many other aspects.

And this is just the beginning. Being B Corp certified means being part of an international community committed to a better world and, above all, being part of a continuous improvement process, with a mandatory reassessment every three years.
