The latest generation of Cloud Server offers better performance and increases the reliability of your services. You can automatically benefit from the new infrastructure by ordering a new Cloud Server, and you can migrate your hostings in just a few clicks from a Web, Classic, hosting or on an existing Cloud Server.

New Cloud Infrastructure

This generation of server benefits from a brand new Cloud infrastructure that works with the latest version of OpenStack. This new infrastructure offers three major advantages:

  1. It increases the reliability of your services, thanks to the duplication of interconnected servers. The Cloud Server’s operation is thus no longer affected in the event of a disrupted connection between the different services of the Cloud infrastructure (network, storage, API, instances);
  2. It increases the internal bandwidth of the infrastructure from 1 Gbps to 10 Gbps, which increases the stability and performance of Cloud services;
  3. It will enable other upgrades in the coming months, like the ability to take snapshots with an unmanaged Cloud Server.

Migrating to a Cloud Server

If you have a Web or Classic hosting or a managed Cloud Server, it is extremely simple to migrate to the new Cloud infrastructure .

Your hosting and your sites will be moved automatically, and if the management of the DNS zone for your domain names is managed with Infomaniak, no action on your part will be needed.

With a Cloud Server, the resources allocated to you are not shared with other clients, and you can customize the hardware and software configuration of your server according to your needs. A Cloud Server also makes it possible to use components that are not available on Web and Classic hostings (mongoDB, etc.).

A managed Cloud Server makes it possible to easily administer your server using the same admin console as Web and Classic hostings. There, you can manage your sites in the same way, all while benefiting from a much more powerful, flexible hosting.

An unmanaged Cloud Server makes it possible to manage your server 100% autonomously, with the Linux distribution of your choice (Debian, Ubuntu, openSUSE, etc.). Solid technical abilities are required in order to manage such a server.
